My research examines the economics of energy and development, and how infrastructure, firms and markets interact to shape economic performance.
Energy efficiency, electricity markets, the energy transition and the rebound effect.
Infrastructure, agricultural transformation, firms and the wider development process.
Empirical analysis drawing on firm-level, sectoral and macroeconomic data.
I am a research-stream M.Sc. student in the Department of Economics at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada. I hold a Master's degree in Applied Macroeconomics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics, both from the University of Maroua, Cameroon.
SummaryAssembles a panel of 43 Sub-Saharan African countries (2006-2023) matched to World Bank Enterprise Surveys to ask whether regional electricity integration delivers development dividends beyond decarbonization. A country-level two-way fixed-effects model links integration, measured by net electricity flows, to access and outages; a firm-level instrumental-variable strategy instruments reliability with exogenous river-flow variation feeding hydroelectric plants. Two findings emerge: a country's net import position does not explain its access trajectory (income per capita does), and once endogeneity is corrected, outages significantly reduce firm sales where OLS detects nothing. The results inform the design of the African Single Electricity Market and the sequencing of interconnection investments under Mission 300.
SummaryDevelops a general-equilibrium framework for the energy rebound effect and takes it to multi-sectoral data for Canada. The paper examines how efficiency gains in one sector travel through inter-sectoral linkages and economy-wide price adjustments, and how these feedbacks can offset part of the energy savings that narrower engineering estimates would predict.
SummaryStudies how Energy Saving Certificates, a central market-based instrument of French energy-efficiency policy, are distributed across the territories of metropolitan France. It maps the spatial patterns of certificate allocation and considers the factors behind the uneven regional distribution of this policy effort.
SummaryA work in progress examining how investment linkages between economic sectors relate to agricultural productivity. Using applied econometric methods within a development-economics framework, it explores the role of sectoral investment networks in shaping productivity outcomes in agriculture.
SummaryA disciplinary note arguing that the contribution of agricultural capital depends less on the sheer volume invested than on how that capital is allocated across uses. It develops this allocation perspective within the Observatory's thematic series on trade-offs in sustainability management.
SummaryAn accessible outreach piece on the rebound effect: why improvements in energy efficiency do not translate one-for-one into lower consumption, and can even raise it, as cheaper energy services encourage greater use. It draws out what this means for the design of environmental and energy policy.

My work is in energy, agricultural and development economics, with a focus on sectoral investment networks, general equilibrium modelling and applied panel-data econometrics. You can find an overview on my Research page.
Yes. I welcome joint work on modelling, applied econometrics and co-authoring, particularly in energy, agricultural and development economics, and I remain open to related fields. You can propose a collaboration from the Services page.
My full curriculum vitae (English and French) is available on the CV page, and my working papers are listed under Research. You can also reach my Google Scholar and ORCID profiles.
I work fluently in both English and French, for research, writing and client projects alike.
Alongside my research, I offer website design, site management and maintenance, server administration, research collaboration and junior consulting. Each is described on the Services page.
Junior consulting means I'm open to collaboration with companies and other organizations. Beyond hands-on data work (collection, cleaning and analysis), I can help interpret research results and formulate economic policy recommendations. It suits organizations that need rigorous, applied economic support on a focused scope.
Go to the Services page and choose a request type; the matching form will appear. You'll receive an automatic acknowledgment of receipt, and I reply personally as soon as possible.
Each project is scoped individually. Share your goals, an indicative budget and a desired deadline in the request form, and I'll come back with a proposal tailored to the work involved.
You'll get an immediate automatic acknowledgment, and I aim to respond personally within a few business days. For time-sensitive requests, mention it in your message. You can also see my current availability on the Contact page.
I'm based in Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada, and work remotely with clients and collaborators anywhere.
Short research notes, working-paper summaries and applied-econometrics write-ups in energy, agricultural and development economics. New notes are added regularly.
